Hosting the Tjwao Language Party
Launching the International Year of Indigenous Languages through the hosting of the Tjwao Language Party in Tsholotsho Zimbabwe. Tjwao is the language of the Khoisan people also known as the Tjwa. The Tjwa live lives of poverty in the outer edge of society. Due to social pressure, the Tjwao language was stopped being used when the Tjwa came into contact with Bantu people. There are currently no young speakers for the language. It is only now that we have started documenting the language and in the process, we have managed to create literature to be used in schools. With this event, we want to showcase the beauty of the language so that other language groups mighty have an appreciation of our language. This seeks to promote diversity and tolerance
