Radio-TV interview on Critical Literacy and the Mother Tongue
My graduate students and I are in Camarines Sur for storybook writing in the mother tongue. One of our partners arranged that TV-Radio station would interview us so we can explain our project. We announced that 2019 is IYIL highlighting that the Philippines has more than 180 languages and a number of languages in that province are dying. We explained that learning to read in the mother tongue would facilitate critical literacy. It is elections period in the Philippines and critical literacy is a hot topic.
